Alhagi is a genus of Old World plants in the family Fabaceae. They are commonly called camelthorns or manna trees, and inthe Middle East they are known as Khar Shotor (Camel’s thorn). It is a tall, thorny herb with an extensive root system, mainly found in Central Asia and India.
Khar Shotor is used in folk medicine, as a purgative and diuretic used to help migraine and rheumatism, kidney stones and it also helps good digestion . It can be taken on its own or diluted with a little water.
